Christmas Brunch Ideas: Crepes with Nutella and Homemade Jam
One of the first things I learned to make was Crepes. Crepes are comfort food for me! They’re so delicious, comforting, and can be made sweet or savory. However, I think a great Christmas Brunch calls for lots of sweetness! And these Crepes with Nutella and Homemade Jam are sweet, delicious, and the perfect Holiday treat!
Crepes with Homemade Jam
My great-grandma’s Crepe recipe! It has been perfected over generations and given my own twist with Homemade Jam.
Ingredients
Crepes
- 1 cup flour
- 1.5 cups milk
- 1 egg
- 2 tbsp sugar
- 1 tbsp oil
- 1 tsp vanilla
Raspberry Rhubarb Jam
- 8 oz frozen raspberries
- 6 oz frozen or fresh rhubarb
- 2 tbsp maple syrum
- 1 tbsp sugar
- 2 tbsp lemon juice
- 2 tbsp water
- 1 packet unflavored gelatin
Blueberry Jam
- 12 oz fresh or frozen blueberries
- 2 tbsp maple syrup
- 1 tbsp sugar
- 2 tbsp lemon juice
- 2 tbsp water
- 1 packet unflavored gelatin
Instructions
Crepes
- Mix all of the ingredients together in a large mixing bowl and use a handheld mixer to beat the ingredients.
- Pour a small pancake size portion into a heated non-stick pan over medium to low heat.
- Cook one side for a minute, flip and cook the other side.
- Set each Crepe on a plate and fill with nutella and top with the homemade jam below or your favorite filling. Or you can wrap store the crepes for a day or two and serve later.
Jam
- For both types of jam, mix all of the ingredients together together in a small saucepan over medium to high heat.
- Bring the mixture to a boil and reduce the heat to a simmer.
- Simmer the mixture over low heat for about 15-20 minutes until it thickens to a jam consistency.
