Perfect Stovetop Popcorn

Servings 5 cups

Ingredients
  

Perfect Stovetop Popcorn

  • 2 tbsp olive oil or vegetable oil
  • 1/2 cup white or yellow popcorn kernels
  • .5 tsp salt

White Chocolate Peppermint Popcorn

  • 5 cups prepared stovetop popcorn
  • 8 oz white chocolate

Chocolate Covered Toffee Popcorn

  • 5 cups prepared stovetop popcorn
  • 8 oz chocolate chips
  • 1/4 cup crushed toffee

Rosemary Parmesean Popcorn

  • 1/4 cup freshly grated Parmesan
  • 2 tbsp freshly chopped rosemary, finely diced
  • .5 tsp salt

Instructions
 

Perfect Stovetop Popcorn

  • Using a large heavy metal pan, pour the oil in the pan over high heat. 
  • Let the oil heat up for about 2 minutes but watch closely - it may take less time. The instant you see the first small bubble then the oil is ready. 
  • Pour the popcorn in the pan and cover immediately.
  • Once the kernels start to pop begin shaking the pan about every 30 seconds. 
  • Continue shaking until the kernels have stopped popping. 
  • Remove from heat and let the popcorn sit for a minute or two. 
  • Pour the popcorn in a large bowl and toss with salt or your favorite seasonsing. 

White Chocolate Peppermint Popcorn

  • Melt the chocolate over a double broiler and continually stir until completely melted.
  • Pour the melted chocolate over the prepared stovetop popcorn. 
  • Add the crushed candycanes to the popcorn and toss well. 
  • Let the popcorn sit for about 30-45 minutes so it can harden. 

Chocolate Covered Popcorn

  • Melt the chocolate over a double broiler and continually stir until completely melted.
  • Pour the melted chocolate over the prepared stovetop popcorn. 
  • Let the popcorn sit for about 30 minutes before adding the crushed toffee. 
  • Once the chocolate has hardened add the toffee and toss well. 

Rosemary Parmesean Popcorn

  • Add the rosemary, parmesean and salt to the prepared stovetop popcorn and toss well.
