Fun With Flowers This Summer
Summer is in full bloom right now, I just love it. I’m taking advantage of the colors and having fun with flowers to liven up my summer home decor. From adding fresh flowers to my kitchen table, to floral pillows on the couch, and a floral print table runners, summer is such great time to have fun with flowers. Adding flowers from the farmers market (and fake ones, too) gives your home the perfect summer feel. Check out my ideas below to help keep your home fresh as a daisy all summer.
The Farmers Market is the perfect place to start! I love buying fresh cut flowers at market. They’re more affordable, last longer, and buying local is the way to go. A perfect Saturday for me starts out at the market and ends at home with a beautiful meal and fresh cut flowers on the dinner table.
If you don’t have access to a farmers market, head to your local grocery store. Flowers like peonies and hydrangea are still in season (more so for hydrangea) and more likely to be found at the grocery store this time of year. I bought these gorgeous pink peonies at our nearby grocery for store for just $6 a bunch.
You can even add flowers to your table without spending a dime by simply bringing the outdoors in. Our neighbors have hydrangea bushes and allow me to cut a few stems here and there. We also have a lilac tree that produces the most beautiful purple stems every summer. They make the house smell so fragrant, too. TIP: Lilacs stay fresh longer when you cut them with long stems and place them in water immediately after cutting.
Floral prints are always a great way to refresh your home for summer. I swap out my throw pillows every season, and my favorite season is summer. I love floral print pillows. They add an elegant look to any room. How cute are these floral pillows from Homegoods?!
I love the pop of color from this floral print table runner and fake tulips on my entryway table. Fake flowers are always great to keep in the house and they’re very affordable. You can find some great fake flowers at Target or the Dollar Store.
I also dusted off some fake flowers I had on the shelf downstairs and added them to my bar cart. It was the perfect touch of pink to brighten up the bar cart. I can’t believe I had these flowers hiding downstairs!
Summer is such a fun time to play with flowers. I hope have found some inspiration in this post. I’d love to hear your ideas, too! I’m always looking for great floral arrangement ideas. Please share if you have some. If you’re looking for more ways to refresh your home for summer, check out my blog post about easy ways to add a pop of color to your home! Cheers! xoxo
