Happy Holidays! I LOVE to entertain – especially during the holidays! My favorite menu is one filled with appetizers. I think it’s the best way to entertain a large group of people. There isn’t as much pressure to formalize a menu and it’s less stress for YOU (the host). You can create simple but creative dishes, like the charcuterie board above. It always helps to have some entertaining essentials on hand. I linked my favorites below. I host an annual Christmas party for my husband’s side of the family and this year I made it cocktail style. See the full menu and recipes below. Perhaps it will inspire you as you host loved ones next week! Merry CHRISTMAS!

Christmas Cocktail Party Menu:

  • Caprese Salad Skewers: Recipe
  • Bacon Wrapped Dates: Recipe
  • Sausage Stuffed Peppers: Recipe
  • Charcuterie Board: I arrange various cheeses and meats from our local grocery or specialty store. In metro Detroit, I love the cheese selection at Papa Joe’s. Trader Joe’s has an awesome selection, too!
  • Veggie Tray: Cut up your favorite veggies and serve with any dip of your choice.

My entertaining essentials

Pottery Barn Antique Silver Entertaining Set: I have several items from this collection, including the tiered stand. They no longer have the square one, but it’s similar to the round one that’s still in stock. I use this stand the most! It’s great for stacking cheese, veggies, desserts – ANYTHING! I love it.

Homegoods Cheese Boards: I have so many adorable cheese boards that I’ve found at Homegoods. I use them for a lot more than just cheese, too! Anytime I’m hosting a party, I go there for inspiration. Check out these champagne glasses that added a nice touch to my Christmas Cocktail Party.
