My beautiful cousin Kayla Jane is getting married! She’s an incredible soul and I couldn’t be happier for her! She is one of the best people I know. How gorgeous is she?! Her kindness radiates from her! My aunts, cousins, mom, and I had so much fun preparing the food and decorations for her bridal shower this past weekend. My aunts and mom are amazing cooks and I draw a lot of inspiration from them. Check out our menu and decorations for the shower! The bridal shower buffet included a crepe bar. Our family loves crepes! We had a crepe bar for my bridal shower, too – it’s always a hit.   We also prepared these beautiful fruit parfaits. You can get cocktail cups like this at Hobby Lobby, Party City, or any catering store. You fill them with about 1/2 cup of yogurt, good quality store bought granola, fresh fruit, and a fresh mint leaf. We kept the appetizer theme going with these quiche and antipasto skewers. We made two different kinds of quiche. The leek quiche recipe was by far the best! For the bacon quiche, we simply added bacon and spinach to the leek recipe. For the skewers, you can add different types of cheese, olives and meats. I’ve included a similar caprese salad skewer recipe. How adorable are these shrimp cocktail and veggie cups? They’re so easy to make and I love the color! Again, you can buy a variety of different mini cocktail cups at places like Hobby Lobby and Party City. For the veggie cups, we put homemade ranch dressing in the bottom and added a variety of different veggies. We cut the veggies ourselves so they were all the same size and easy to place in the cups. It’s time consuming but worth it! For the shrimp cups, you simply add shrimp cocktail sauce to the bottom of the cups and top with the thawed precooked shrimp. These chicken salad croissants are great for any party! They’re so simple. Just add red grapes and celery to canned chicken. Mix with mayonnaise, salt and pepper. You can use any chicken salad recipe you want. Sometimes we make it with fresh chicken breast, but when you’re cooking for a large group of people, canned chicken is a great alternative. Every great bridal shower needs a mimosa bar, right?! It adds great color, too! We found the adorable carafes from the dollar section at Target. We added a variety of different juices and fresh fruit. So simple but gorgeous! The women in my family do not skimp out on sweets. Can you tell?! You name it, they bake it, or know where to find it. My aunt made the adorable pretzel rods dipped in chocolate. Kayla’s soon-to-be in-laws made the cookies and cake pops. And we added a candy bar with very inexpensive glass jars I already had on hand from Homegoods. The adorable cupcake stand is also from Homegoods. Cooking with the women in my family is my favorite thing to do. We even had sweet Lukas join the cooking party. My heart was so happy to have Lukas there. Kayla loves kids! Her love for Lukas makes me so happy. As a mom, seeing other people embrace your baby is the absolute best thing.  He got lots of snuggles as we cooked. It was great! Kayla will make a great mom. Her hubby-to-be, Tyler, also loves kids. They are going to be incredible parents! And The Venue at 501 in Clare was so perfect! The brick walls and chandeliers were perfect! We only had to add a few decorations, including a combination of fresh hydrangea and fake flowers. Again, we used glass vases we already had on hand. Many of them came from Homegoods. We’re all so excited to see Kayla and Tyler get married. We can’t wait for the big day! Feel free to let me know if you have any questions about the decorations or menu. We hope you find some inspiration!
